BitC is a new systems programming language. It seeks to combine the flexibility, safety, and richness of Standard ML or Haskell with the low-level expressiveness of C.

  1. What a real shame that it’s dead it almost looked like a truly useful functional language.
Whilst Scheme is beautiful and Haskell is clever, neither are very practical. OCaml is practical(ish) but ugly – I thought BitC was almost there !
I suppose I’ll have to stick with Gambit and C then.

  2. How can it be dead if it’s open-source? Only if the people that want it allow it to die.
